A "Revolution" in Leather Marking!
May/June, 2006
Infinity Stamps, Inc. offers a great marking method to leather workers and craftsmen. Branding the surface of leather has proven to be a practical way to produce an attractive, permanent image.
Branding is especially useful when the type of leather used is too thin or too soft to be marked with an impression stamp.
It is a well-kno wn fact that those who work with fine leather have a keen eye for detail. They realize that adding an appealing logo to their product presents two important advantages by enhancing its appearance and promoting sales.
Our determination to have the best answer to any marking need has driven us to seek and find a successful solution for marking the typically softer leather selected for products such as purses and wallets.
The ever increasing demand for branding equipment has prompted the Hexacon Electric Company, US manufacturers of heavy duty branding irons to appoint us as their official distributor. Now Infinity Stamps is able to keep up with supply and demand better than ever before.
All branding dies (irons) produced by Infinity Stamps are custom made with precision per customer specifications. We will use any image and letter style you wish, in any size that you require for your mark. With proper use, branding dies can last a lifetime. We will always have this remarkable solution waiting for you, the leather worker.

New Blackening and Polishing Kit
Makes your stamped metal jewelry tags stand out
© 2005 by John Stancliffe; all rights reserved
For those of us who love beautiful things, jewelry is more than a valuable piece of metal. It is a piece of art made from the hearts of those fortunate enough to have the talent to create such charms. To create something so small that can give someone the world is a wondrous adventure. Who knew that the necklace you made would be given to a daughter for her birthday, and that her smile would bring tears to her father eyes. Who would have expected that your bracelet was given to a wife who fell in love with her husband all over again.
Jewelry making is an art form symbolic of love, human nature, and the blessings we are all given. And like any other art form, the artist must craft their form down to perfection. A jewelry artist makes nothing short of an immaculate product and yet is always striving to do better. Call it stubbornness, call it obsession…call it what you will, ‘tis the life of a true artist.
As every great artist knows, a signature must be left behind on each piece. With jewelry there are two options. Mark the actual product with a jewelry stamp, or connect a petite metal jewelry tag to the piece. The most professional looking jewelry tags are marked with a TagMate, which leaves an impression that’s always clear and centered perfectly on the tag…but that’s not good enough.
We like to consider ourselves artists as well, and like any good artist we are always striving to do better.
We now offer a kit that will darken the impression left in the tag as well as polish the metal to a gleaming shine. Not only is the metal jewelry tag marked, but you can now clearly see your own logo from a distance.
From Infinity Stamps, Inc., the new Blackening and Polishing Kit is a “highlighting” method that blackens marked jewelry tags and other marked jewelry items.
After marking your jewelry tags or other silver or gold jewelry item with your stamp(s), you can enhance your logo, decorative marks, and text with our Blackening Solution and a Polishing Cloth. The contrast achieved with the Blackening Kit makes your mark more noticeable and easier to read.
This additional step “highlights” your impressed logo and decorative marks, and leaves your tags and other marked jewelry items with a beautiful shine.
The Blackening Solution can also be used for highlighting items made of copper, bronze and aluminum.

This Blackening method is popular among unique jewelry manufacturers, creative artists and sculptors who use it for enhancing their logos, hand-written signatures, initials and decorative designs.
For jewelry artists who wish to add shine to their tags without blackening the impresses marks, the Polishing Cloth alone will do the trick.
Author John Stancliffe is from Infinity Stamps, Inc., a manufacturer of various tools for marking jewelry, including the TagMate. Infinity Stamps supplies blank metal jewelry tags as well as the metal stamps to mark them-and now the Blackening and Polishing Kit to enhance your stamped metal jewelry tags.

More on Metal Stamps
Wednesday September 14, 2005
I previously talked about how to sign your jewelry pieces using a tool such as The TagMate, available from Infinity Stamps. Now they have added a little something to their line of stamp products, a blackening and polishing kit. This way, you can make the mark of the stamp on the metal stand out better. Per their website: “The blackening and Polishing Kit Infinity Stamps offers is a “highlighting” method that blackens marked jewelry tags and other marked jewelry items. After marking your jewelry tags or any other silver and gold jewelry item with your stamp(s), should you wish to enhance your logo and any decorative marks including text, you can achieve just that by using a Blackening Solution and a Polishing Cloth. The contrast achieved with a Blackening Kit makes your mark more noticeable and easier to read.”

Signing Your Hand-Crafted Jewelry
From Tammy Powley
August 20, 2005
Most jewelry makers think of a hand-crafted piece of jewelry as a piece of art work, so why not treat it like one? One way to do this is by signing finished jewelry designs, but that can be tricky. It’s not like a painting where you can literally sign your name with a paint brush or a sculpted statue where you can carve your initials. How do you sign a beaded necklace or a chain made from wire? One way to do this is by using metal tags that attach to your jewelry after it’s made. You can buy these pre-stamped or you can stamp them yourself, but the latter choice can be tricky, and well, time consuming if you’ve got a lot of beaded jewelry to sign, right? That must have been the thoughts of whoever invented a new gadget called the TagMate, available from Infinity Stamps. It’s a stamping tool made especially for marking tiny tags, the kind used to “sign” your jewelry. I haven’t personally used this tool, but it might be something to consider for those of you who are looking for an answer to the on going issue of signing finished jewelry. Take a look at the company’s web site at http://www.infinitystamps.com for more detailed information on this unique new tool.

Metal Jewelry Tags
Custom stamped tags make a professional impression
© 2005 by John Stancliffe; all rights reserved
Metal jewelry tags are becoming increasingly popular with jewelry artists all over the world. These tags are attached to various jewelry items to clearly identify the artist’s name, initials or logo:
They show pride in craftsmanship. Simply put, a professional looking jewelry tag presents your mark to the world.
Jewelry artists can choose blank 24-gauge sterling silver tags in a variety of shapes and sizes; 14k and 18k gold tags are also available in limited configurations. The tag size is chosen to fit the dimensions of logo or image to be stamped on it. These can be manually marked with a straight jewelry stamp or in a press with the Hallmark jewelry stamp.
The TagMate
The TagMate is a compact, auxiliary-marking device developed by Infinity Stamps, Inc., specifically for marking jewelry tags of all shapes and sizes. It’s easy to use, and is simpler and more efficent than any marking tool ISI has tested in the past.

The TagMate is comprised of two parts, a base and a cap. It’s shown below along with a jewelry straight stamp.
The base is 1-1/4” in diameter by 1-1/2” high, and the cap is 1-1/2” in diameter by 1-1/2” high. A recess is milled on the top side of the base and, its underside. The recess is custom milled to snugly accommodate any blank jewelry tag placed in it for marking.
The cap features an opening designed to allow the insertion of a jewelry straight stamp, specifically produced to fit only one way. On the end of the straight stamp below is a logo ready to be stamped on a jewelry tag:
How to Use the TagMate:
Set the TagMate base on a workbench. Place a blank jewelry tag inside the custom milled recess and cover the base with the cap. Insert the jewelry straight with its flat side facing forward, hold the cap with one hand, and with your other hand strike the stamp with a hammer. Repeat to mark as many jewelry tags as needed.
(The) TagMate assures that every tag will be uniformly marked with the design perfectly straight and centered. Compare the tag stamped without (the) TagMate (on the left_ to the one stamped with (the) TagMate (on the right):
The TagMate has been thoroughly tested by ISI, and proven itself to be an ideal device for marking metal jewelry tags.
Author John Stancliffe is from Infinity Stamps, Inc., a manufacturer of various tools for marking jewelry, including the TagMate. Infinity Stamps supplies blank metal jewelry tags as well as the metal stamps to mark them.

Infinity Stretches the Limits
By John Stancliffe and Billie Eglick
January 2005
Have you recently created leather goods that you have not yet gone out the door that you’d like to put your “signature” on? Well-known saddlers, artists, and newcomers to leather crafting are proudly adorning their leather creations with clear and personal “signatures” achieved with Maker Stamps produced by our own company, Infinity Stamps.
We have always offered high quality marking tools and continue to provide an array of options to our customers for their leather marking needs. We offer handheld impression stamps, steel and magnesium plates for use in presses or clickers as well as branding irons.
We are constantly searching out, adopting and devising new methods to increase our efficiency. Last year production reached a point that forced us to move to a much larger facility and acquiring new equipment.
In August of 2004 we moved from Chatsworth to Canoga Park, CA. Our new facility is approximately 3,000 sq. ft. larger than our previous premises. This has allowed us to install new machinery such as our CNC mill which has enabled us to assure our customers and even better quality product as well as faster turn around time. In addition, the new facility includes four offices as opposed to the single office we all had to share in the old place.
Each of us is now equipped with a new computer and software linked by a networking system which (allows) us to offer better customer service.
Infinity Stamps (ISI) has met increasing customer demand by recently introducing arbor presses as an alternative manual marking tool. We offer these arbor presses in two sizes, one exerting two tons and the other three tons of pressure. These sturdy steel presses can either be free standing or can be bench mounted, using the two holes located in their base.
An arbor press allows the leather worker to choose a much larger mage for their stamp face than would be practical on a handheld stamp. The use of an arbor press also ensures more even and uniform impressions.
Our new web site, www.infinitystamps.com , is scheduled to be up and running early this month (January 2005). The updated site has added features such as new photos of stamps and marked products showing examples of our work. The Quote Request/Inquiry Form on our contact page has been improved to allow the inquirer to better clarify his/her needs.
We would like to share with you that we offer alternatives to impression stamps for marking various leather products. These alternatives are branding irons and hot stamps. Either is a suitable method for marking leather that is too thin or too supple to be marked with an impression stamp. Branding irons and hot stamps are also a solution when an image is too large be to (to be) achieved by a handheld impression stamp. Hot stamps are the best alternative when marking dark leather. To achieve a greater contrast on dark leather hot stamping foil is used. A hot stamping machine is required for this marking method.
Not too long ago we employed manual pantograph machines to engrave the electrodes necessary for producing stamps. This was a long and less accurate process since it required the production of pattern plates which had to be traced for manually engraving the electrodes. Our computerized system has eliminated the need for patterns, making it possible for us to produce even the most intricate designs accurately.
It all started when Dennis Eglick, our Operations Manager, petitioned our owner for approval to update operations. Dennis claimed that “we could be so much more productive and expand our capabilities if we upgrade our system and ‘get computerized’.” Realizing this was the wave of the future, Jack (the owner) gave him a green light to go ahead. After much time spent researching, the appropriate machines and software were acquired. ȁNow everything we do is computerized,” says Dennis, “and our capabilities are vastly enhanced.”
Today we are using Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Machining software (known as CAD-CAM). We have new CNC (Computer Numeric Control) equipment for machining, milling, and engraving that makes our turnaround time faster. Our new software allows our graphic designers to transform sketches and pictures into artwork that can then be refined to ensure the most beautiful stamps.
Our good name has been earned by the proven durability and marking clarity of the stamps we produce. We preserve our reputation by paying close attention to detail and to quality in every facet of our operations.
All of us at Infinity Stamps wish you a Happy and Prosperous Year.

The Leather Crafters & Saddlers Journal
Infinity Stamps Leave Lasting Impressions
Written for Infinity Stamps, Inc. by Derek Devermont
December 2001
In today’s mass-market mentality it is difficult to find a theme that was all too common in old America. Hard work and pride in product seemed to disappear sometime in the forties and was replaced with mass production and deadlines. All of a sudden the heat was taken from detail and replaced by fast food and television.
Infinity Stamps never lost that pride in painstaking detail, which has made them successful. A family run business, they have been producing quality stamps for close to three decades. Attention to detail is their motto. Each stamp is given individual attention from start to finish with a taste for quality rather than the quick and (easy) rough finish, and ensures your money’s worth.
The skill attained through experience allows them to perform talents that other stamp companies might not be able to do. They can replicate stamps and impressions and, if need be, refine your black & white artwork. Saddle makers, boot & shoemakers, silversmiths, knife makers and artists are just a few of the occupations that Infinity Stamps works with. Each customer, however, isn’t just a customer but also a friend.
