Impression Leather Stamps
All Impression Leather Stamps are Metal Stamps for permanently decorating and marking leather items with logos, signatures and designs, from the simplest to the most intricate. Impression Leather Stamps are made of tool-steel. The stamps are heat-treated to a degree of hardness ensuring maximal durability. They can be made as steel plates or as handheld stamps.
Images are either raised on the stamp face to be depressed into the leather or sunken into the stamp face, achieving an image that is raised above the immediate surrounding background (See example impressions: RM and KOREY PACKER).
All Leather Stamp Images
The image on the face of an Impression Leather Stamp can be anything a customer desires. Images can combine characters, symbols and designs. Text can be in any font (letter style) that exists for Roman character languages (such as English). Text can also be in languages other than those using Roman characters (such as Arabic, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Chinese, etc.). ISI can also use original fonts created by the customer.
Designs for images can include text, logos, brands, trademarks and any artwork provided by the customer as well as clip-art* available in the ISI system (Contact Infinity Stamps for clip-art information*). When desirable or necessary, ideas for layout and artwork improvement are brought to the attention of the customer.
Artwork
When an image includes a logo or a design, ISI would need to receive the artwork and details of the actual image sizes required. For greater efficiency everything should be submitted via e-mail. For artwork format details visit the Graphic Design Services page. Mailing and faxing are also acceptable. Infinity Stamps Graphic Design services are available to the customer upon request.
FONTS (Letter & Number Styles)
The ISI Font Gallery displays many fonts to choose from.
Some fonts may not be suitable for all stamps. When choosing a font or a few font options, the total image size (for the stamp face) needs to be taken into consideration. Additional fonts may become available as the Infinity Stamps Font Selection continuously grows. Fonts used in other languages such as Asian, Arabic and Hebrew can also be used. Original fonts created by the customer are also acceptable.
Layouts
ISI takes pride in creating a well-balanced layout. The Graphic Design department achieves this balance by using the most appropriate character heights and widths and, when necessary, standard, extended and condensed characters, all combined in one image. The ISI Graphic Designers also pay close attention to good balance between the image and the background.
Everything is done to ensure a stamp image that will leave the clearest and most appealing impressions.
Steel Plate Leather Stamps
Steel Plate Leather Stamps are intended for use with presses. They can vary in thickness per customer specifications. A Steel Plate Leather Stamp is usually 1/2” to 1” thick. The length and width of the plate are dictated by the image size.
Image sizes on Steel Plate Leather Stamps can be larger than those on handheld Impression Leather Stamps. Steel Plate Leather Stamps are recommended for larger images and when artwork includes substantial black sections.
Features of the Handheld Impression Leather Stamp
A handheld Impression Leather Stamp is a Metal Stamp designed to be struck with a mallet or hammer. It is a solid 5” long piece of steel with a rounded top. The handle of larger faced stamps is turned for comfortable grip. The head of the stamp is beveled up to the image. The image is raised 3/32” to prevent background marks. The shaft is notched to indicate the correct application direction.
Maker Stamps
Sometimes called Leather Embossers or Leather Stampers.
Maker Stamps are Metal Stamps usually used by saddlers to identify their own saddles, harnesses, etc. Infinity Stamps offers six standard sizes of Maker Stamps with a single-line oval shaped border, but Maker Stamps are also made per any specifications requested by the customer. ISI uses tool-steel for producing all Maker Stamps and heat-treats them to a degree of hardness ensuring optimal durability.
All handheld Maker Stamps are made of one solid 5” long piece. When necessary, the “handle” section is tapered for firm grip. The top end of the Maker Stamp is beveled to prevent chipping when struck. A notch on the handle indicates the correct application direction. The face of all Maker Stamps features an image raised 3/32” to prevent background marks. An image can be with or without a border. Borders can be of any shape and style desired.
The most popular Maker Stamp image incorporates three lines of text enclosed in a border. The first line usually shows the saddler’s name, the second line usually reads: “MAKER” and the third line indicates the city and state.

Standard Maker Stamps
ISI offers six Standard Maker Stamps. The standard Maker Stamp includes three lines of block letter text (unlimited number of characters) enclosed in a single-line oval border.

Image layouts
When an order is received the ISI Graphic Design department prepares the layout at no extra charge. The layout is then forwarded to the customer for review. Any changes required can be accommodated at that stage. Shipping date is approximately two weeks from receipt of customer
Variations of Maker Stamps
In addition to the single-line oval border, other borders such as rope border, barbed wire border and double-line border are offered.Still other style borders are made per customer specifications.
